The Silicon Valley Web Directory

You know how important it is to generate traffic to your site, and you also know that links from a popular site are the most effective way to generate that traffic. We would like to help you attract visitors to your site by offering you the opportunity to advertise in our directory. We offer two types of advertising: (1) In Directory Ads and (2) Banner Ads.

In Directory Line Item Advertising:

If your site is already listed in our directory you will get two ads for one low monthly fee and a one time setup charge. This includes an ad on our page where your site is already listed and a large 1" by 8" banner site in Our Sponsors section.

Your image and identity is important. You only want to associate your site with the best. This is an award winning, highly acclaimed, world famous, and popular web site which has received recognition and accolades from the following prestigious web reviewers:

You may also want to see the world wide sites that link to ours or which search engines can locate our site.

Our site is completely non-commercial and we intend to keep it that way, but this doesn't mean you can't advertise on our pages. We have come up with a way for you to promote traffic to your web site without changing the non-commercial nature and appearance of our directory.

We do this by limiting the size and type of advertising we allow.

We will allow advertisers to fill out the remainder of the line of their listing with advertising copy which can contain HOT LINKS. All advertising copy will be subject to my approval. We want ads that enhance the information content of our site. The examples shown above meet this criteria.

Any or all parts of the ad copy may be hot linked to appropriate pages on your site. The Career Opportunities could link to your job offering page while your Special Offer links to your product promotion page. This is, of course, in addition to the hot link we already have to your principal home page at your site.

Bonus

In addition to the above, and at no additional cost, we will include a promotional listing for your home page on Our Sponsors page. This advertisement can be as large as 1" in length and 8" in width. This ad may be plain text (3 lines) with hot links or a banner gif with a single hot link. Image maps for banner gif not included or accepted at this time. Plain text copy is free. We charge an additional setup fee for the inclusion of a banner gif. The Our Sponsors page will show listings in alphabetical order initially. When a sufficient number of advertisements are placed we will arrange them in appropriate categories in a directory format.

Another Bonus

If you put a link on your site to our site, we will add a third link to your page in our section titled:

Check Out our References - Great Web Sites that Link to our Home Page

In fact, you don't even have to advertise to receive this bonus. Just set up the link, e-mail us the URL of your page and we will link to it from our page. (Your site must be suitable for people of all ages, including children, for us to link to it.)

Advertising Fees

Site Not Listed?

The above advertising plan applies to companies which are already listed in our directory or which qualify to be listed in the directory. See submission guidelines.

We will consider creating new categories to provide an opportunity for companies to be listed who commit to a paid advertising program for a duration of six months or longer. Consideration will also be given to companies who's product or service offering is compatible with an existing category if they commit to six months or longer of advertising. Acceptance of advertisers is at our sole discretion and we reserve the right to deny advertising space to anyone.

Companies which are not listed in the directory and do not qualify for inclusion in the directory may still advertise on Our Sponsors' page. All fees will be the same as for listed companies.

Advertising Agency Commission

We will pay recognized advertising agencies the industry standard commission for any advertisements placed through the agency. We do not pay commissions to in-house advertising agencies or pay a commission or offer a discount to agencies placing an advertisement for their own account (themselves).

Top of Page Banner or Message Advertisements

We are now accepting advertising banner ads on our pages. Cost will vary upon the particular page where the advertisement is placed. Home and Entry pages will be offered at a higher fee than most sub-category pages. Some sub-category pages space fees will be higher than others because of their high popularity (hit rates).
